The Christmas season is well upon us and if you’re on hosting duty this year but have no idea where to start, then you’ve come to the right place. We consider ourselves hosting connoisseurs, so sit back, grab a nice cup of tea (or coffee), and read on.
Setting Your Table For Success
Every good dinner party starts with a themed table. Now, you can go in two directions with your table setting; you can either go all out – i.e. a matching dinnerware set if you’re feeling really fancy (think matching side plates, dinner plates, soup bowls, etc.) or if you’re a bit more realistic like us, then purchasing matching dinner plates usually does the trick.
After scouring Pinterest, we’ve found some items that are sure to impress your guests and make your tabletop look gorgeous.
Choose Your Tablecloth
Think about your colour scheme and go from there. During the holidays, we tend to go towards a darker tablecloth to keep things super cozy. If you don’t have a plaid or dark tablecloth on hand, then white works just as well, and you can build your table around that!
Let’s Talk Dinnerware!
Let’s be honest, dinnerware is expensive. So we understand if you don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on a matching dinnerware set.
Our tip? Buy matching charger plates to place your regular plates on top of. This just adds a bit extra to your table setting. Also, never forget about side plates for salads.
If you are looking to buy a few goodies for your dinnerware, then we’ve linked some things that we love!
Adding The Finishing Touches
This is where you can really have fun with your table. We suggest adding tapered candlesticks, having fun with glassware, adding festive touches like bows on each table setting, and so much more. Here are a few items we think really spruce up a table:
