The London Guide

The food scene in London is crazy. From Michelin star restaurants to endless amazing bakeries, you’re bound to fall in love with what London has to offer. Here are a few places that stood out to us when we went, as well as some places we’re still dying to try.

BAKERIES

Pophams Bakery

This one is still on our list of places to try, but one look at their Instagram and you’ll be drooling. Located in Islington and known for their laminated pastries, this is a spot that should be on everyone’s list. With their natural earthy tone aesthetic, and incredible menu offering, this is one we have to try out.

Address: 19 Prebend Street, Islington, London N1 8PF

The Dusty Knuckle Bakery

Located in Dalston, The Dusty Knuckle is known for their incredible sourdough and loaded sandwiches. With great coffee and just an overall fun vibe, this is definitely a place to checkout. Prepare to wait in line though, as they tend to get pretty busy. We headed here for breakfast, so sadly their sandwiches weren’t ready, but we have to say it’s a great spot to people-watch and enjoy a nice cup of coffee with some sourdough, butter, and jam.

Address: Abbot Street, Dalston, London E8 3DP

Buns From Home

You’ll smell this place before you see it. With multiple locations throughout London, they specialize in croissant dough filled buns. Their cinnamon and cardamom buns are a cult favourite, but don’t sleep on their filled dessert buns. Once again, prepare to wait in line because who doesn’t love a buttery filled bun?

Address: Multiple locations

Fortitude Bakehouse

With a vast offering of baked goods, prepare to wait. One look at their Instagram account and you’ll see endless photos of cream-filled beignets, tarts, buns, and so much more.

Address: Fortitude Bakehouse, 35 Colonnade, London WC1N 1JD

RESTAURANTS

Luca

Elevated Italian. This Michelin star restaurant probably stood out to us the most on our trip to London. Homemade pasta and the best lemon tart we’ve ever had. This place has it all. With impeccable service, beautiful interiors, and an extensive wine list, you have to add this place to your London list.

Address: 88 St John St, London EC1M 4EH, United Kingdom

BRAT

A modern take on Spanish food, BRAT is nestled down a side street in Shoreditch. With an open kitchen and wood fire grill, you’ll find a focus on meats and seafood. From whole Turbot to Beef Sirloin, everything has such flavour. Don’t skip out on dessert because the Basque cheesecake is out of this world.

Address: 4 Redchurch St, London E1 6JL, United Kingdom

Noble Rot

Noble Rot is one of those places where you can just sit back, relax, and enjoy great food and wine. With a few locations throughout London, we went to their first location on Lamb’s Conduit Street. It’s a great after-work spot with an extensive wine list.

Address: 51 Lamb’s Conduit Street, London WC1N 3NB
